Anti-Spam

Is there some admin to make anti-spam work easier? Maybe we could use some solution like http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/SpamBlacklist_extension or something else. We really need some black list for <u style="display: [EDITED TO AVOID NEW SPAMBLOCK] none;"> and <div style="overflow:[EDITED TO AVOID NEW SPAMBLOCK] auto;height:1px;"> . Or for some popular spam links. Now anti-spam work is too hard. Some spammer add same spam links to hundreds of articles. It is really boring to delete them all. March 27, 2006 - Hi Sergej, I just installed the SpamBlacklist_extension on this wiki. I don't think it's interfering with normal use of the wiki (I was able to edit the spam section of the main talk page), but let me know if you see any problems. I'll keep an eye on the Recent Changes section for a while to see if it seems to help with the spamming. eric at fogcreek dot com.

I also just blocked the styles you originally listed above (which I had to edit, because they're now blocked). Also just modified so that it's not clear exactly what the spam text being rejected is to make it harder to adjust.

March 28, 2006 [eric at fogcreek dot com] - Oops, I just realized that in blocking the second style above, I disabled the blocking of the first one. Both should now be blocked. I'm looking into how to block specific IP addresses in addition to the domain names that are blocked with SpamBlacklist.

I tried to add 194.158.202.1 to spamers at Talk:Main Page, but I got "The page you wanted to save was blocked by the spam filter. This is probably caused by a link to an external site." I even cann't just save this page without any editing. What's wrong? Sergej Grishaev

• Because the page was saved with banned text "style=overflow..." before spam block was installed. So you need to modify that part.--Aoki

Empty pages

I think it would be right to delete all these empty pages. Jpiw

Spam in Hebrew

It seems that עברית Hebrew main page is spammed now. And also it looks slightly corrupted. I revert it to previous state but I'm not sure that it is correct state. Could you verify this page? Sergej Grishaev 02:15, 31 Mar 2006 (EST)
